An Alternative for Persons with Physical Limitations

I read with great interest on Medium about how many other writers found that physical activities were solutions that greatly restored their abilities to devote themselves to the creative activities that are an essential function that any writer who is earning an income from writing must pursue. However, when a person has two disorders that limit how active he/she can be, exercise can only be what the person can do without doing harm to himself/herself. In my case, the disorders were inherited; I have some relatives who suffer from the same disorders, so the causes for the disorders were genetic factors for which a sufferer cannot be held responsible.

I only began to feel negative effects from the inherited disorders 20 years ago, but in those days, one epidural injection every year kept me pain free. However, the disorders are known to become more severe with aging. It’s safe to say that ages over 70 years of life qualify as “aging.”

I received treatments in professional pain clinics during the past 20 years that consisted of one epidural injection every year that left me pain free for at least a year and perhaps a bit longer. However, as the years passed, the injections gave relief over periods of time that became shorter and shorter. When an injection gave me relief from pain for two months or less, my doctors decided to try other methods in the hopes that they would give me longer relief.
